Welcome to the worldwide Santacon nexus, the orginal resource for Santarchy events across the globe.
Every December for the last 15 years, Cacophonous Santas have been visiting cities around the world, engaging in a bit of Santarchy as part of the annual Santacon events.
It all started back in 1994 when several dozen Cheap Suit Santas paid a visit to downtown San Francisco for a night of Kringle Kaos. Things have reached Critical Xmas and Santarchy is now a global phenomenon.

- For the most part Santarchy! is an archive only. We don't do any active planning on this website, however we will mention upcoming Santacons that have their information posted online.
- If you are looking for Santacon planning info, try contacting your local lodge of The Cacophony Society or the Santacon and Santarchy tribes.
- We do not condone or encourage any kind of vandalism or violence at a Santacon event. Our santas do not destroy property, steal merchandise or do harm to others.
- Santarchy is not a movement, that's what you do in the bathroom. In addition to that, the annual Santacon events are not a protest against Christmas or commercialization. Really, it's just a bunch of santas getting together to have a good time.
- We do not provide or sell any stock photos or video footage and all images on this website are copyright of their owners. If you want to use any photos or videos on this website, please contact the owner directly.
- We do not do interviews with the media and so on. We're not actively involved with organizing any of the Santacon events (see #1), so if you are looking for people to interview, try contacting the organizers of various regional Santacon events.
- We have absolutly nothing to do with any idiot santas you may have heard about in New Zealand. Contrary to misreporting by the media, they are not associated Santarchy or the Santacon events.

Need NYC Santacon Chapter contact info. Not sure who the event planner is in 2007 or was in 2006 and before. They may not have survived last year’s Santacon! I would anticipate the event to be Dec 8 or 15th. If I don’t hear anything by Nov 9. I will advertise the day’s event itinerary requesting ($5) donations to St Jude’s Children Research. Basically it would be a schedule of SantaPub Crawl of 10-20 Bar’s throughout Manhattan between 11-1am and I arrange with the proprieters. New Yorkers, let me hear your thoughts!???

Who was the coordinator last year for NYC? I would pick up the ball if I knew I wasn’t duplicating efforts. The Santacon Nyc site still displays 2006 info?? Dec. 15th sounds good. Closer to the payload of the 25th means more revelers all around.
This Santa has some thoughts:
1) Santa tends to be tenaciously discreet. This public comments page is not appropriate for discussion of meeting places and other specific plans.
2) Santa does feel that the past routes have been needlessly far-flung, and thinks the route should be more focused on Santa’s collective needs than hir responsibility to appear at EVERY tourist trap in the city (although Santa did enjoy using the bathroom in Tavern on the Green that one time).

Noooooooo! I need the NYC date to be the 15th! The 8th is just waaaaaaaay too early. Myself and a lot of my friends just can’t make it on the 8th. Too many have weddings, company holiday parties, business trips, etc. Change it to the 15th!

We’ve decided to only list events that have supporting information online. People were starting to email us with when they think a Santacon might take place, but then not provide a link that verifies that info. I’m sure once the SF event organizers have a page up for their event they will send us their link.

Yay for DC Santas and friends! All are welcome on Dec 8 to take the red manace across the National Mall and visit the white house! Then off for beverages…LOL.
But I have to say I’m EXTREMELY bummed that NYC is on the same day. NYC is usually the weeekend after - DC Santa tried to contact the NYC Santa organizer but he/she never answered emails. “harumph!”
I hope that NYC does a different weekend next year so that the DC and NY santas can be attend eachother’s events again and share the jolly.

I agree with the other posters from NYC on two accounts: bigger venues, and please do it on the 15th! The 8th is just too early, and small bars can’t handle the masses. Remember that when you drink ya gotta break the seal sometime, and when you go to bars that have one-person stalls it just sucks. I don’t want to break the law to relieve my bladder.

Its now Tuesday and no official word on the santacon website about when & where for this Saturday… I am taking matters into my own hands…

In terms of having it on the 15th, who says you can’t dress up as santa, be jolly, and run around the city twice a season ?!? We’ll do it again next weekend for our neighbors in DC that want to come up!
If the officialy planner of the nyc santacon wants to post of more info, I will happily (jollily ?) concede. Just please contact me so that we are sure SOMETHING happens this Saturday.
